To All Construction and Utility Locals:
It will require a broad coalition of people
and organizations to ensure that the
campaign to pass the Employee Free Choice
Act is successful. While a number of
companies that employ IBEW members have come
on board in a public show of support for the
act, I am requesting that you reach out to
employers that you have collective
bargaining agreements with and vendors that
provide services and products to your local
union.
Enclosed you will find two sample
letters; one that you should send to your
employers and a second to be sent to
vendors. These letters should be forwarded
to those business leaders whom the local
union believes would be interested in
lending their name in support of the
Employee Free Choice Act.
Also enclosed are a resource guide and a
sign-on sheet that businesses who agree to
publicly support the Employee Free Choice
Act can complete and return to the local
union for forwarding to the AFL-CIO.
The resource guide, produced by American
Rights at Work (ARAW), can be used to
provide interested parties with more
information on the Employee Free Choice Act.
